I am excited to make this first blog / vlog post. I took a trip to the Nike Factory Store. Someone on Instagram posted a photo, the day before of the Nike Kobe 1 Protro “Purple Reign” (STYLE AQ2728-004). The sale price of the shoes at the Nike Outlet said $69.97. These Kobe shoes retail for $175.
So, I got there 10 minutes before the store was going to open and a line was already set. I was number 11th in line. I said to my self, even if they have a full size run of the Kobe’s. I can still get a pair. The doors opened and I went straight to the Nike Basketball section. The guy in front of me automatically got 4 pairs. SMH. Good thing I was the third person to be able to get two pairs for myself. (Nike Staff stated that it was two pairs per person).
The unfortunate part was that they didn’t have my size (I’m a size 12) and my brother’s size (He’s a size 13). They only had size’s 10 & 11. The shoes are not B Grades, so that is good. I still got two pairs, hoping someone wants to size swap for my size and my brothers size. In less then 10 minutes, all the pairs were gone (See the vlog above for the empty shelf footage).
It’s funny how I saw multiple people looking up the Kobe prices on Stock X all at the same darn time (No Future). I spoke to one of the Nike employee’s and asked if he had more sizes in the back. He replied “no, none in the back. Everything you see in the shelves is all we got”. He also stated that the Kobe shoe shipment did arrive the night before. He too didn’t get his size. Another Nike employee stated “well that didn’t last long. They sold out quickly due to the person posting the picture on Instagram“.
After I got my Kobe shoe pairs, I then started browsing the isles. A found a lot of great finds for men, women and kids. I saw Nike Lebron 7 Retro QS “China Moon’s”, Nike Kyrie’s (Multiple models, too many to mention), Nike Zoom Freak’s (Giannis Antetokounmpo), Mamba Focus, Mamba Fury TB, Jordan Why Not Zero (Westbrook), KD 13’s, Air Jordan XXXIV Low’s, Nike Air Max 98 and so much more.

There were so many shoes on sale from $59.99, $49.99, $39.99 (a lot in this price), $34.99, $29.99, $24.99. Now, I go in line to pay for my Kobe’s and I see an employee adding the Air Jordan 7 Patta’s to the plastic display, next to the register. Then I see that the Air Jordan 1 Bred Mid’s and the Air Jordan 1 low Royal’s as well. Crazy finds all in one store.
When I got to the register, I notice a couple retros Jordan’s behind the shelves. I see the box of the Air Jordan 6 Hares and a couple of Jordan 12 boxes. I didn’t want to ask what specific colorway there were. So, to end this purchase, I noticed that for both Kobe pairs came to be $120 and some change. $55.97 a pair, plus tax. What a day, I “Payed Under Retail” for two Kobe Retros.
